# Connect your assistant to TaxWeave

MCP gives your assistant current TaxWeave facts, documentation, pricing, and optional product-updates signup. No TaxWeave account, sign-in, or API key is needed. Connecting does not subscribe you.

## 1. Connect

Server URL: https://taxweave.ai/mcp

Paste this into connector settings, not a chat message. Opening it in a browser may return 405; use the protocol connection below.

**Claude chat or ChatGPT:** In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector, name it TaxWeave, paste the URL, and choose No sign-in. Enable TaxWeave under + → Connectors in a new conversation. In ChatGPT, open Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server, name it TaxWeave, paste the URL, choose No authentication, review the warning, and create/install it. Select TaxWeave with @ in a supported chat. Plan and workspace rules apply.

**Claude Code:** Run `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user taxweave https://taxweave.ai/mcp`, check `claude mcp list` or `/mcp`, and start a new session.

**Codex:** Run `codex mcp add taxweave --url https://taxweave.ai/mcp`, check `codex mcp list`, and start a new session.

## 2. Ask and verify

Use the connected TaxWeave MCP tools to explain what TaxWeave does and what it would cost for 250 clients.

Look for a TaxWeave tool call. An answer based on web search alone does not confirm MCP use. Updates signup requires explicit consent and an email address.
