# Keep Gmail and Google Drive. Bring the tax client’s context together.

TaxWeave is the context layer tax firms run on. It brings Gmail conversations, Google Drive documents, notes, deadlines and engagement status into one client view, so Vira and skills can work from the whole picture. Keep the Google tools your team already uses.

## A workflow for a firm already using Google tools

Bring your client list as a CSV or Google Sheet. During onboarding, an authorized firm representative connects Gmail and the Google Drive document folder your firm chooses.

Open a client to see related emails, documents, notes and engagement status together. Ask Vira what changed or what the engagement is waiting on, then inspect the sources behind the answer.

Use that shared context as the starting point for the work. A live skill, 1040 Workpaper Prep, lets your preparer confirm source documents, inspect and correct readings, and generate a workpaper for human review. Your firm completes and files the return in its existing tax software.

## Understand the Google connections

The published Gmail connection is read-only. It reads message headers and, where needed to match a conversation to a client, message text. TaxWeave does not send, modify, label or delete Gmail messages, and does not read email attachments. Client source documents come through the supported document connection.

The published Google Drive connection reads files in the document folder you choose. The Google Sheets engagement list uses a selected-file grant through Google’s file picker. Confirm the account and folder configuration your firm needs during onboarding.

Each connection requires authorization. You can revoke access in TaxWeave or through your Google Account permissions. Read the privacy policy for the current scope descriptions and data-handling commitments.

## Keep portal, billing and filing responsibilities explicit

Your existing portal, billing and tax software can keep their current roles. TaxWeave adds connected client context and skills on top of the supported email and document sources.

Agree which system holds the official job status and how staff hand reviewed work to the filing software. Working alongside another product does not establish automatic synchronization or direct tax-engine writeback.

## Check the exact Google setup

The available connections are Gmail, Google Drive and a client list from Google Sheets or CSV. Ask about the specific accounts, folders and access requirements your firm uses rather than assuming every Google Workspace service is connected.

Google Calendar, chat and notetaker connections are planned. The recorded integration demo shows both available and coming-soon choices and uses synthetic information.

## What is available now

Client context, engagement status and 1040 workpaper preparation are available. Completed-return review and automatic engagement phase advancement are in development. Business-return workflows are targeted for the 2027 filing season.

Skills prepare work for your team to review. TaxWeave does not file returns or replace your client portal today. SOC 2 is in progress.

## Evaluate access and cost

Request an introductory call to assess your firm’s workflow and supported setup. Bring your client list and the authorized representative who can connect the email and document accounts. A short evaluation agreement follows the call.

Pricing uses graduated client bands with a $99 standard monthly minimum and no seat charges. For 250 clients, 200 × $5 + 50 × $4 totals $1,200 per month before any conditional founding discount. Confirm founding eligibility and availability with TaxWeave.

## Using Outlook and OneDrive instead?

The same context-layer approach also supports Outlook and OneDrive. Use the Microsoft workflow guide to evaluate those supported connections and the responsibilities your firm keeps in its existing tools.

## Quick answers

### Can a tax firm use TaxWeave with Gmail and Google Drive?

Yes. Gmail and Google Drive are supported connections, with a client list from CSV or Google Sheets. TaxWeave brings client context and engagement status together so Vira and skills can work from that context.

### Does TaxWeave read Gmail attachments or send email?

No. The published Gmail connection is read-only and does not read attachments or send, modify, label or delete email. Source documents are accessed through the supported document connection.

### Do we need to replace our portal, billing or filing software?

No. Evaluate TaxWeave alongside those tools, with clear responsibilities and manual handoffs where needed. TaxWeave does not file returns or provide a complete portal-and-billing replacement today.

### Does Google Drive support mean all Google Workspace services are connected?

No. Confirm your account and folder setup during onboarding. Google Calendar and other planned connections are separate from the currently supported Gmail, Drive and Sheets connections.
