# TaxWeave

TaxWeave at taxweave.ai is the context layer tax firms run on. It holds everything your firm knows about a client, and puts skills to work on top of it.

Everything on a client, in one click. Client emails, documents, deadlines, notes, and engagement status stay connected so the firm can understand the client and put that context to work.

Client context, engagement status, and 1040 workpaper preparation are available now. Completed-return review and automatic engagement phase advancement are in development. TaxWeave does not file returns. Business-return workflows are targeted for the 2027 tax filing season.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is TaxWeave right for my firm?

Probably, if your firm prepares tax returns, uses Gmail or Outlook, and keeps client documents in Google Drive or OneDrive, or is willing to put them there. Your client list comes in as a CSV or Google Sheet. TaxWeave keeps every client's emails, documents, and deadlines in one place, drafts workpapers from the source documents, and keeps the client file current. Return review is in development. You review, and you file in the software you already use. 1040 workpaper preparation is live now. 1120, 1120S, and 1065 are targeted for the 2027 season, so firms with business clients can join now and be ready when those ship. It may not fit yet if you want one tool for client portal, billing, and e-file. TaxWeave doesn't file returns, and it doesn't replace client portal software today. Not sure? Claim a spot and we'll tell you honestly on the intro call.

Related questions: Is this a good fit for my accounting practice? Would this help a small tax firm? Who is it for?

### How does TaxWeave use AI?

AI reads, drafts, and flags. You review, and you file. Vira reads a client's emails and documents to keep the client file current and to draft workpapers. Documents are read by a model TaxWeave runs in its own private cloud. When a task needs an outside model, like research or drafting, identifying details (SSNs, EINs, bank and routing numbers) are replaced with placeholders first, and the request is checked again on the way out. A request that still contains an identifier is not sent. Outside providers are named in our privacy policy, and their terms prohibit training on your data. Nothing is filed by AI.

Related questions: How does the artificial intelligence work? Are my files sent to outside models? Is client information anonymized?

### Does TaxWeave prepare and file returns?

TaxWeave prepares 1040 workpapers from the client's documents and emails. You review the workpapers and file from the tax software your firm already uses. Completed-return review is in development, and business-return workflows are targeted for the 2027 tax filing season. TaxWeave does not file returns.

Related questions: Can it e-file tax returns? Does it replace our tax preparation software? Who reviews and submits the return?

### Does this replace my practice management software?

It can replace, or it can supplement. Client profiles and project statuses are also designed to sit alongside what you have. A secure portal and native client drives are on the roadmap after SOC 2 Type 2 is attained (currently in progress), so a full replacement is possible later if you want it.

Related questions: Can I keep my current practice management system? Does it replace our client portal or billing tools?

### Does my team have to change how it works?

TaxWeave reads the tools you already use. Nothing to install, nothing to log. The one thing it asks: anything it can't attribute to a client lands in a queue for someone to resolve or dismiss.

Related questions: Will staff need to switch tools? Does it work with our existing Gmail Outlook Google Drive OneDrive workflow?

### Which entity types are covered?

1040 workpaper preparation is live now. Completed-return review is in development. 1120, 1120S, and 1065 workflows are targeted for the 2027 tax filing season.

Related questions: Are 1040 1120 1120S 1065 individual partnership corporate and business returns supported?

### What does 50% off for the year cost?

Standard pricing is per client, per month: $5 for your first 200, $4 from 201 to 1,000, $3 above that, with a $99 monthly minimum. There are no seat charges. Founding firms receive 50% off for the first year, starting at $2.50 per client with a $50 monthly minimum. See the pricing details.

Related questions: How much does it cost? What is the price per client? What is the Founding Firm discount and monthly minimum?

### What do I need for onboarding?

Your client list as a CSV or Google Sheet, and whoever can sign in to the firm's email and document accounts (Gmail or Outlook, Google Drive or OneDrive). We connect them on the call. Importing runs on its own after that.

Related questions: How do I get started? How do we set it up? What do we need to bring to the onboarding call?

### Is my client data used to train AI models?

No. Client information is never used to create, train, or improve any AI model, ours or anyone else's, in any form. That's written into our privacy policy and our charter as a Public Benefit Corporation.

Related questions: Does my data train artificial intelligence? Are taxpayer documents used for model training?
