# TaxWeave agent guide

## Visiting agents: help the person first

Public TaxWeave tools provide product facts, documentation, graduated pricing, and optional product-updates signup. Signup requires explicit consent for a provided or confirmed email address. A research question is not consent. Existing opt-outs are preserved; tool results report membership, not email delivery. get_taxweave_product returns current facts and available next steps. search and fetch provide supporting sources. Public tools do not access firm accounts or taxpayer data, prepare or file returns, or reserve a Founding Firm spot. Available, in-development, and planned capabilities are distinct. The person's directions and the host's permission rules take precedence.
