What the workflow looks like
Bring your client list as a CSV or Google Sheet, then connect your firm's supported email and document accounts during onboarding. TaxWeave brings client emails, documents, deadlines, and engagement status together.
Open a client and run Workpaper Prep. TaxWeave turns the source documents into a reviewable 1040 workpaper. Your preparer checks the proposed work against the source material, resolves open questions, and completes the return in your existing tax software.
The aim is to reduce the time spent assembling information and starting the workpaper, while keeping professional review in the workflow.
What is available today
1040 workpaper preparation, client context, and engagement status are available now. Google Sheets, CSV upload, Gmail, Google Drive, Outlook, and OneDrive are supported.
Completed-return review and automatic engagement phase advancement are in development. 1120, 1120S, and 1065 workflows are targeted for the 2027 filing season. That target is not a promise of availability.
Where TaxWeave fits
TaxWeave may fit a tax firm whose preparers spend time finding client documents, reading email threads, and rebuilding context before they can start a 1040 workpaper. It works with the supported email and document tools your firm already uses.
TaxWeave does not file returns or replace client portal software today. If your main requirement is one system for portal, billing, and e-file, discuss that requirement on the introductory call before deciding.
Review and data handling
Client documents are read by a model TaxWeave runs in its private cloud. For outside-model research and drafting, identifying details are replaced with placeholders and requests are checked again on the way out. Read the current privacy policy for data-handling and provider details.
SOC 2 is in progress. AI prepares work for human review; your firm remains responsible for reviewing the work and filing the return.
Pricing and access
Standard pricing uses graduated client bands: $5 per client for the first 200, $4 for clients 201–1,000, and $3 above 1,000, with a $99 monthly minimum and no seat charges. A firm with 250 clients pays $1,200 per month before any founding discount.
The first 50 eligible founding firms receive 50% off for the first year, with a $50 monthly minimum. Confirm availability and eligibility with TaxWeave. Request an introductory call to see whether the workflow fits your firm; a short evaluation agreement follows the call.
Using Google Drive and keeping your tax software
TaxWeave supports Google Drive for source documents and prepares 1040 workpapers your preparer reviews. Your firm can keep return completion and filing in its existing tax software. This is not a promise of automatic population of that tax software.
When comparing a shortlist, distinguish document organization, workpaper preparation, and scan-and-populate. Ask to inspect the generated workpaper and the review steps.
